A New Generation of Mobility – Vehicle Control and Security for New Services

Case Study in the Category of Digitalization and Integration for the Creation of New Services

Client Brief – Ensuring vehicle control, particularly of the rear doors, and ensuring the monitoring of other doors, including immobilization.

Škoda Auto Digital (now Škoda X), one of the innovation hubs of Škoda, sought a functional solution to manage vehicle control, specifically unlocking and locking, with a focus on rear doors for the "Trunk Delivery" project. Beyond basic control, there was also a requirement for identifying the vehicle’s parked location, as well as supplemental control of warning lights or the horn to aid couriers in locating the vehicle more easily.

An important requirement was the system’s ability to integrate with an existing courier system that had already been developed and integrated with various selected e-shops.

Xmarton Optimization of the Original Brief (Enhanced Security Features)

In addition to controlling the rear doors and monitoring their status, we proposed incorporating information about the other doors, ensuring that couriers would only open the rear doors. Another key functional addition was introducing a supplementary independent vehicle immobilization system.

The Challenge – Creating an Integration Platform Ensuring Both Functionality and Anonymity

The challenge was designing a suitable integration where the courier software would only have access to the minimum necessary vehicle information, and only when absolutely necessary. This was crucial for maintaining privacy and security.

Benefits of Collaboration Between Škoda Auto Digital (Škoda X) and Xmarton

After the introduction and integration of the Xmarton system, the pilot phase of the trunk delivery project was launched with the following benefits:

Quantitative Benefits

  • The platform operates across all brands and vehicle models from 2000 onward – ensuring the independence of the project from any specific vehicle manufacturer.

Qualitative Benefits

  • Maximum vehicle security during delivery and enhanced security even outside of the delivery time.

  • For users utilizing the delivery system, the platform automatically offers a full digital key for the vehicle.

  • Technologically secure communication that functions even during GSM network outages.

Our Company’s Contribution:

  • Xmarton Hardware – Xmarton Exclusive Unit

  • Xmarton System – Integration Platform

  • Xmarton Solution – Vehicle Access Reservation and Control

  • Xmarton Technology – Third-Party System Integration

This case study demonstrates how effective solutions and innovative approaches can provide new services to vehicle owners and users by enabling integration with other software and platforms.
